The show O Samba Pede Passagem, directed by dance artist and professor at UFBA, Gilsamara Moura, is present in several cultural spaces in Salvador, to celebrate 100 years of this genuinely Brazilian musical genre.

Cia. DANÇAlagados will perform at Espaço Xisto Bahia on June 10th (Friday), at 19h; at the Plataforma Cultural Center on June 11 (Saturday) at 10 am; at Espaço Cultural Barroquinha on June 14th and 15th (Tuesday and Wednesday), at 7 pm; at Teatro do Movimento - Ufba on July 8 (Friday), at 7 pm; and at SESC Pelourinho on July 9 (Saturday), at 7:30 pm. Entries vary between Inteira R $ 10 and half R $ 5. On the 10th, 11th of June and on the 8th of July it will be free.

Samba Pede Passagem is the result of research on musical instruments, rhythms and different styles. The show strolls through Samba de Roda, Samba do Recôncavo, Pagode, Partido Alto and many others. Highlight for classic songs like “Carinhoso”, by Pixinguinha; and “Alvorada”, by Cartola.

The show is part of the project “Sambalagados” contemplated by the Edital Arte Todo Dia - Ano II, from the Gregório de Mattos Foundation, with actions aimed at training, circulation and production in Dance. It was developed for 4 months by young people at risk from the Itapagipe Peninsula

Cia. DANÇAlagados was created in 2015, in the city of Salvador-Bahia and maintains its research, creation and production activities supported by the technical and artistic structure of Espaço Cultural Alagados. Created by the dance artist and professor at UFBA, Gilsamara Moura, the group is formed by teenagers and young people from the community of Alagados and adjacent neighborhoods, students and professors of the UFBA Dance Course, collaborating in the cultural formation of citizens.
