ABOUT THE EVENT

The Festival Atos de Teatro Universitário, an achievement of students, teachers and employees of the Art and Media course at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), starts its eighth edition this week. From the 1st to the 3rd of December, several workshops, lectures and theatrical exhibitions will be held in the city of Campina Grande, coming from abroad or born in Rainha da Borborema.

The attractions will be distributed in the three shifts every day. During the mornings, the workshops “Voice and scenic presence”, “Presence: when dance dances to you”, “Mixed dialogue - meeting and sharing” and “Comic Body” will be held. All workshops will take place from 9 am to 12 pm at the UEPB Art and Culture Center located at Av. Getúlio Vargas, nº 44, Centro.

In the afternoon, there will be a Research Colloquium in Performing Arts, in which, each day, a guest speaker will debate on pertinent themes, not only to the theater, but to art itself. The Colloquium will take place at the Miniteatro Paulo Pontes, inside the Teatro Municipal Severino Cabral, located at Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto, Centro.

At night, starting at 7 pm, the University Theater Exhibition will be held, with several performances, produced by UFCG Art and Media students or by guests from other universities, will be presented to the public. The shows will be presented at the Teatro Municipal Severino Cabral, located at Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto, Centro.

All attractions will be free to the public and open to the community, with special attention to artists and students of theater and dance. But beware, the workshops have limited spaces and anyone wishing to apply for one of the places must fill out an application form [click here] until next Monday, November 28th. The selection of participants will be announced on Tuesday, 29, by email.

The Atos Festival has an important artistic and social character, given the city's artistic reality, offering the university community and city residents a quality cultural option and, for students, an open space for the dissemination of their theatrical productions, in addition to a exchange of knowledge and experiences with students and teachers from other institutions.
