SHOW: BRASSES AND CANAVIALS

GESTUS GROUP:

Inspired by images, poetics and aesthetics of rural figures from the interior cane fields and figures present in communities and slums in the great urban centers of Brazil.

What precedes the cutting of sugar cane in the cane fields of various regions of the country? These are the "burns", often used as a strategy to facilitate the harvesting of sugarcane.

What precedes the great "burning" in the urban centers of Brazilian cities? They are the horns for burning clothes, also used as burning human files.

In this context, brilliance means burning the straw, breathing soot, burning the body of sugar beet, making charcoal and sharpening sickles and belts for socio-political-cultural claims. These are images that dancers-interpreters rebuke, for example, for social claims, such as the right to housing and landowners.
