“Walking around the itamambuca bands (coast of São Paulo), I see a sign. It said: Land with Atlantic Forest is sold here.

A strange sign. When I realized that I was surrounded by woods from head to toe. But instead of the roots of the trees and the snake crawling on the ground, there was asphalt, sidewalks and many houses where tourists usually go to spend their holidays.
This was in late 2019 and early 2020, on a journey through direct contact with the Atlantic Forest, between trails and camps. At the same time, my sketchbook began to fill with trees and birds that I saw. We remember a world that could have been the future.
Not strangely, that sign had caught my attention. 2020 arrived and brought with it several events. The arrival of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil and, in the meantime, we have also seen fires in the Pantanal, the Amazon and in several other regions. These facts all made me fall into a deep sadness.

I decided to translate my pain in this work that Ágora 3 carries as a cover in this year so full of oddities. A gift from me, a polished jewel for you who must now be carrying a copy.
May all pain be understood and transformed. May we take care of ourselves, the other and the future. ”
